Bachelorette Party Ideas in Charleston That Go Beyond the Bar Crawl

Need a bachelorette plan the whole crew can get behind? Here are seven ideas for courts, games, dinner and a slow morning after in Mount Pleasant.

Most bachelorette party ideas in Charleston end up in the same place: dinner, drinks and a long walk in shoes nobody should have packed. That's a fine night. But the real decision is what the whole group will do together, when some of them are best friends, some just met and one is the groom's aunt. Here at Crush Yard in Mount Pleasant, we think the answer is something with a little friendly rivalry in it. These seven ideas can stand alone or fill a whole day.

1. Break the Ice With Casual Pickleball

Book a couple of courts, hand out paddles and let people rotate in and out. It's a simple way to break the ice before the big dinner. Nobody has to make small talk when they're laughing at their own serve.

We have 8 indoor courts, so a rainy or sweltering day won't wreck the plan. Courts start at $48 per court per hour, which is easy to split, and you can book online or in the Crush Yard Go app. See the Charleston pickleball page for rates and classes.

2. Take a Group Class First

If nobody in your crew has ever held a paddle, start with a lesson. Group classes start at $25, and a class gives everyone the same starting line. By the end, your maid of honor may have a surprisingly mean backhand.

3. Run a Bride vs. Bridesmaids Bracket

Split up by side of the family, by college years versus work friends, or by who has known the bride longest. Write the bracket on a whiteboard and make the loser buy a round of toasts. If you want someone to run the show, ask us about a pro-led session or bracket when you plan your event.

4. Make Arcade Games the Side Quest

Not everyone wants to break a sweat before dinner. Our arcade games give those guests a reason to stay in the middle of the fun instead of waiting at a table. For a more contained version of the party, ask about the arcade party space.

5. Build the Night Around Dinner at One Long Table

Sometimes the best idea is the simplest one. Our full-service restaurant serves shareables, pizzas, bowls and desserts, and our sports bar and lounge are right there for the next round. Reserve your table on OpenTable, or bring it into a private event plan and ask about a buffet, bar packages or drink tickets.

Kitchen hours don't always match court hours. Check the Charleston location page or call (843) 284-8160 before you lock in a dinner time.

6. Keep the Morning After Easy

Courts open at 6 am every day. Most bachelorette crews won't be up for that, but the early risers might. Guests can drop in for morning play from 6 to 10 am, and the booking page confirms the current price.

For everyone else, there's pickup and delivery. Food at the rental house with the whole group still in pajamas might be the best hour of the weekend.

7. Give the Crew a Space of Its Own

If your group is big, or if you want decorations and a surprise for the bride, go private. Depending on your date and headcount, the options include the Mezzanine, the Back Yard, the arcade party space and a full venue buyout. Matching shirts and a favorite theme are welcome ideas. Tell us what you have in mind and the events team will confirm the details.

Start with our wedding party page to see how it can work.

Which Idea Fits Your Crew?

Still not sure? Match the plan to the people:

  • A competitive crew: the bracket, with real stakes and a trophy made of whatever's on the table
  • A mix of ages: dinner first, with courts and arcade games as options
  • Total beginners: a group class, then open courts while the lesson is fresh
  • A big group coming in from all over: a private space, so nobody gets lost between stops
  • A low-key bride: open courts in the afternoon and an early dinner

Our Mount Pleasant yard works for groups from Charleston, Daniel Island, Isle of Palms and Sullivan's Island. Courts run 6 am to 9 pm Monday through Saturday, and 6 am to 8 pm on Sunday. Our address is 3365 S Morgans Point Rd, Mt Pleasant, SC 29466.

What to Tell Us When You Reach Out

You don't need every detail nailed down. A few basics are plenty:

  • Your preferred date and a backup
  • A rough headcount
  • Whether it's a surprise
  • How much of the group wants to play
  • The mix of games, food and drinks you're picturing

Send that through our Charleston event inquiry form. Prefer to talk it through? Call us at (843) 284-8160. Then go find the bride a paddle.
